A Recipe for Resilient Urology:
What’s Ahead at LUGPA’s 2025 Annual Meeting

By Celeste Kirschner, CAE, MHSA, CEO, LUGPA

As independent urology practice administrators and clinicians, you know great outcomes are built with the right ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and perfect timing. This November in Chicago, LUGPA’s 2025 Annual Meeting brings that same recipe to life—pairing essential policy insights, practical practice-management takeaways, and bold leadership conversations to help our community thrive.

With celebrity chef Rick Bayless as a speaker this year, I’m leaning into a culinary theme for your official pre-meeting preview. I know his keynote will bring fresh perspective on excellence, resilience, and leading high-performance teams, and beyond that, I also know that every session is carefully crafted and designed to sharpen your skills, expand your palate for innovation, and energize your team for the year ahead. Think of this as your amuse-bouche!

Our Signature Dish: The Presidential Update

This is the essential course that frames the full meeting experience. LUGPA President Scott B. Sellinger, MD, will serve forward-looking update with a clear view of where independent, integrated urology is headed and how LUGPA is positioning our members for success in value-based care, research, and practice sustainability.

A Bold Policy Pairing: Healthcare Policy Keynote

Congressman Greg Murphy, MD, a practicing urologist, brings firsthand physician-leader insight to the forces shaping reimbursement, consolidation, and regulatory oversight. Follow it with the LUGPA Health Policy Forum featuring Congressman Murphy, Mara R. Holton, MD, Josh Langston, MD, Tracy Spicer, and John McManus for a robust tasting of what is changing and how independent groups can influence it.

The Fan Favorite: Avoiding Pitfalls in Urology Practice Management

Jonathan Henderson, MD, and John Tillett, MD, will share their experiences for a recipe for practice failures. Learn from real-life situations to help avoid operational missteps. This session reprises a presentation from a regional meeting, where it was well received. You won’t want to miss it.

Between sessions, take advantage of our bustling Exhibit Hall to connect with partners who help independent practices innovate and scale.
