| Dr. Brad Lerner |

Dr. Brad Lerner — President of Chesapeake Urology Associates
Brad D. Lerner, M.D., practices general urology, and his specific clinical interests include vasectomy, male infertility, erectile dysfunction including a prosthesis for the treatment of ED, kidney stones, sperm retrieval procedures, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH or enlarged prostate). He also performs the UroLift procedure for the treatment of BPH/enlarged prostate.
Dr. Lerner became President of Chesapeake Urology Associates, LLC in August 2016. He also serves as the organization’s Medical Director of its Summit Ambulatory Surgical Centers. Previously, he was the Co-Director of Reproductive Medicine, Microsurgery and Sexuality, and Director of the Peer Review and Quality Assurance/Quality Performance Committees.
In 1990, Dr. Lerner began his urology career in Baltimore with Urologic Surgery Associates, where he was Medical Director of the practice’s ambulatory surgical centers. After the merger with Chesapeake Urology Associates in 2006, he became the Vice President of Chesapeake Urology and then took over as the Medical Director of the Summit Ambulatory Surgical Center Division.
Since 2006, Dr. Lerner has led the growth of the Summit surgical centers, which today has 16 centers. The Summit surgical centers are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). As Medical Director, his responsibilities include implementing and monitoring policies governing the operations of the ASCs as well as ensuring the daily delivery of high-quality, safe patient care through a broad range of clinical, business, regulatory and operational practices. Dr. Lerner is regarded in the national medical community as a progressive leader in surgical centers. In 2012, Dr. Lerner was named as one of the Top Administrators for ambulatory surgical centers by Becker’s ASC Review. He is credentialed by the Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC), a distinction earned by those who lead ambulatory surgery centers.
Dr. Lerner also maintains a clinical urology practice at Union Memorial Hospital, where he is Chief, Division of Urology. He is also the Urology Consultant for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens.
Dr. Lerner received his general surgery and urology training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He underwent specialized training in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and is certified as a solo and Medicare surveyor for AAAHC, and achieved the Certified Administrator Surgery Center designation in 2013. In addition, he completed the Business of Medicine certificate program at Johns Hopkins University in 1999. Dr. Lerner is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Lerner has mentored many young physicians and has been selected a “Top Doctor” by his peers and both Baltimore magazine and the Washington Post magazine on numerous occasions, and was previously chosen as a national “Physician Leader in the ASC Industry” by Becker’s ASC Review. He was honored with a Citation from Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley in recognition of more than 22 years of outstanding service in the Baltimore community.

Dr. Brooke Edwards |
Dr. Brooke Edwards — Chief Medical Officer, The Urology Group
Dr. Edwards graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed her residency in urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Certifications and Memberships
A member of the American Urological Association as well as the Société Internationale d’Urologie, Dr. Edwards is licensed in the commonwealth of Kentucky and the state of Ohio.
She currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for The Urology Group.
