LUGPA’s ASC Academy
LUGPA’s Ambulatory Surgery Center Academy was held May 29-31, 2025 at the Scottsdale Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. NEXT YEAR : The event will highlight important clinical and administrative considerations involved with developing and sustaining a safe, efficient and high-quality ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Sessions will cover topics on staffing, regulatory compliance and the pearls and pitfalls of various procedures performed in an ASC. Our 2025 program contained two separate learning tracks to benefit attendees who may be considering developing an ASC, as well as those that currently have an ASC. See the 2025 Agenda here.
The 2024 event took place March 14-16, 2024 Last year's event featured more than 20 expert speakers, with dynamic sessions, breakout discussions, and interactive panels. Drs. Evan Goldfischer, Jeffrey Spier, and Jason Hafron opened the event, setting the stage for discussions on the economic and clinical value of ASCs. Speakers such as E. Scot Davis, Whitt Holder, and Brooke Edwards, MD, shared strategies for enhancing ASC efficiency, while rapid-fire clinical sessions covered key topics like female urology, stone disease, and BPH therapy. Attendees also explored critical issues such as managed care contracting, revenue cycle management, and the role of robotics in ASCs.
