LUGPA Requests Nominations for Board of Directors

Colleagues,

The LUGPA Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the LUGPA Board of Directors. The positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and one at-large urologist director will be elected in November 2020.

The Nominating Committee is inviting applications from urologists who are interested in serving as Secretary or as an at-large member of the LUGPA Board of Directors, and from practice administrators who are interested in serving as Treasurer. While not formally required, prior LUGPA Board and/or committee experience is desirable. A comprehensive description of the work involved and expectations for members serving on the LUGPA Board may be accessed here

LUGPA Board members serve a term of two years, renewable twice, for a total of six years of board service. The LUGPA Board has four in person meetings over the calendar year. The Board typically meets in February, June, August, and November.

If you are a LUGPA urologist or practice administrator and are interested in serving on the LUGPA Board, please submit a cover letter explaining the rationale for your interest and the expertise you would bring to the Board, along with your CV or resume, to Celeste Kirschner, LUGPA CEO via email ([email protected]) by August 14, 2020. To be considered for a LUGPA Board seat, all applicants must review the Conflict of Interest Policy and complete the Disclosure of Relevant Financial Relationships.

The Nominating Committee reviews numerous factors when selecting individuals for its slate; these include organizational, practice, and business leadership experience, service to and participation in LUGPA and its programs, and geographic balance for the Board.  An informational webinar on serving on the Board will be available on the LUGPA website.  An interview process (virtual) will take place for candidates later this summer.

The Nominating Committee will present its slate to LUGPA Members in November.  Individuals elected to the Board will begin their service on the Board just after the annual meeting.

If you have further questions about LUGPA Board service, please do not hesitate to reach out to Celeste Kirschner.

Thanks to all of you for your dedication to LUGPA's mission and success.
