2026 Las Vegas Regional Meeting and Inaugural APP Forum
LUGPA members gathered in Las Vegas on June 19–20, 2026, for the Las Vegas Regional Meeting, an educational and networking event that brought together urologists, practice administrators, advanced practice providers (APPs), and key practice staff from across the country. The meeting featured timely discussions on the clinical, operational, and business challenges facing independent urology practices, while providing attendees with valuable opportunities to connect with peers and industry partners.
A highlight of this year's meeting was the inaugural LUGPA Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Forum, the first program of its kind offered by LUGPA. Led by co-chairs Jeffrey Spier, MD, and Joy Maulik, CRNP, the forum was developed to support the growing role of APPs in independent urology and to provide education tailored specifically to their needs.
The APP Forum featured presentations on key areas of urologic care, including bladder cancer, neuro-urology and voiding dysfunction, women’s urologic health, prostate cancer across the care continuum, and pelvic floor care. Attendees also participated in panel discussions focused on APP integration, workflow optimization, professional development, and the future of APP practice within independent urology. Participants were eligible to earn approximately 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, pending final accreditation.
The Regional Meeting also included a CME-accredited clinical education session, Charting the Future of Precision Oncology in Prostate Cancer: The Emerging Role of PTEN, led by Jason Hafron, MD, and Gordon Brown, MD. The session explored the expanding role of precision oncology in prostate cancer care and provided attendees with practical insights into emerging diagnostic and treatment considerations.
The success of the inaugural APP Forum underscored LUGPA’s ongoing commitment to supporting every member of the independent urology care team. The event served as an important milestone in the growth of LUGPA’s APP initiatives and helped lay the foundation for future APP-focused educational programming, including the planned APP Academy in 2027.
