LUGPA ListServ Rules and FAQ

Thanks for being part of the LUGPA listserv community. To ensure the best possible experience for all listserv members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using these e-mail conversations, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules and guidelines set for these peer discussion groups. You also agree to abide by all relevant policies and procedures of LUGPA, including policies related to antitrust. You also agree to reserve list discussions for topics best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation.

If you have questions or if you'd like to join one of our ListServs, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. To preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, LUGPA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership on all lists for members who violate these rules.

  • Be germane. Tailor your message to the issue being addressed or up for discussion since that will tend to produce the most focused and valuable responses from your colleagues.
  • Brevity is important. Please keep your messages as short and to the point as is consistent with conveying the substance of your thoughts.
  • Provide a subject line. Posting a subject line that reflects your message's contents enables your colleagues to prioritize their reading.
  • Be careful with replies. It is important to remember that all messages and replies posted to the list are sent to the entire list. Consequently, if you wish to transmit something of a more personal or private nature, please send it directly to the recipient rather than through the list serv. When possible, avoid replies that include prior correspondence since long messages tend to slow the process.
  • Postings to the list should not make disparaging remarks about any individuals or organizations. LUGPA in its sole discretion, may, at any time and from time to time and without notice, remove postings that are deemed objectionable and ban subscribers who have violated these guidelines.
  • Do not post any identifiable patient information or otherwise violate HIPAA.
  • While we encourage ListServ members to share solutions, authors are expected to disclose all financial interests at the time of posting.  For example, if you are recommending a specific software solution and you are an investor, you are required to state that fact when you post.
  • Listserv participants should not copy, cc, screenshot or forward any comments outside of the official listserv. The use of the listserv is strictly limited to authorized users of LUGPA member groups. Please do not share information with vendors, sponsors or other individuals who are not LUGPA members.
